"Multiple truths can exist"—that's the message I convey in my art. This design captures the reality of being a migrant, growing up in the hood, and working towards environmental justice. You can be a hood scientist, a campesino practitioner with a little thug flavor, rooted in indigenous revolutionary thoughts and ideals, and still love Miyazaki films all at the same time.
This piece is a representation of all the homegirls working in the environmental movement. Working to steward, protect, and regenerate spaces while being brown - inspired by Miyazaki films and stories that always spoke to me. I love anime, and the music is always banging and calming.
